The process of harvest at a winery is truly exciting. Everyone involved, whether employee or volunteer, has an eager anticipation of the whole process. They remain charged, ready and willing to come at a moment’s notice, when the grapes are just right...ripe and ready to be picked and crushed. They also know that the schedule is entirely at the mercy of the grapes.

That the “modern print” started on a crude metal plate nearly 200 years ago, and then within 60 years became the flexible negative developed by George Eastman is fascinating to me. The function of film in creating a negative and then making a print in a darkroom is magical.
